Evan Ellis and Leland Lazarus - Chinese Private Security Companies in Latin America

With this email, I would like to share with you my new work on the activities of Chinese Private Security Companies in Latin America, co-authored with my distinguished colleague Leland Lazarus, to whom all credit goes for the excellent Chinese-language portion of the research.
The article, available in both English and Spanish, highlights how Chinese private security companies are beginning to appear in Latin America, in support of the security needs of PRC-based entities and personnel doing business in the region, just as those companies have made slow but important inroads in Asia and Africa. The article discusses the strategic implications of this little-known phenomenon for the region, and for the US.
