Evan Ellis article on potential contributions of the U.S. military in responding to the challenge of Extra-hemispheric Actors in Latin America and the Caribbean
Dear Colleague:
With this, I am proud to share my new work, just published by Global Americans, on the potential contributions of the US military, as part of a whole-of-government effort, coordinated with business, civil society and our international partners, in responding to the challenges of extra-hemispheric actors such as China.
In this work, I emphasize that DoD in peacetime should not play a leading role in this effort, but the military does have important potential contributions…yet much more thinking is needed on what those contributions can and should be.
This article is intended to contribute, in some small way, to our thinking in that area.
The article is available here for download:
It is also available through Global Americans, which published it:

As always, thank you for the opportunity to interact with you through this means. If you wish to share this with a colleague, I would be honored. If you are not currently on my distribution list for my occasional (always free) publications, please feel free to join by clicking on the button below.
Again, I appreciate the opportunity to be in touch.
