Evan Ellis - Brazil's Collision Course with the United States
Dear Colleagues:
With this email, I am pleased to share with you my new work, “Brazil’s Collision Course With the U.S.?”, in which I examine the strategic shift in Brazil’s foreign policy under President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and its implications for U.S.–Brazil relations. I start my analysis from the historic perspective that, Since World War II, our two nations have maintained a complex friendship built on both cooperation and the different strategic and political imperatives of each partner…I argue that particularly under the current Lula administration, that relationship faces unprecedented strain with implications for both partners and the region.
The article examines the current Lula government’s pursuit of a left-leaning, internationalist agenda that nurtures ties with extra-hemispheric U.S. adversaries including China, Russia, and Iran. I note how, in recent years, that posture has translated into massive Chinese investments into multiple strategic sectors in Brazil, including energy, telecommunications, ports, and mining, as well as significant and growing cooperation in defense, artificial intelligence, and the space sector, among others. In multilateral affairs, I detail how Brazil’s role in the BRICs block has strengthened its coordination with China, Russia, Iran and others, and radicalized its role as promoter of a multipolar order that challenges U.S. interests.
I also address efforts by the current U.S. and Brazilian leadership to reduce tensions, and argue that deepened confrontation between our two countries is not inevitable, yet argues that leaderss and strategic planners on both sides would be wise to prepare for that possibility

Thanks for sharing your works with us , Dr Ellis.
It seems that a long war over resources in the Americas is inevitable.
I wonder how this all ties in with the advent of the new Digital Currency?
Perhaps the presuisus metals and rere earth minerals will be the assets that give Digital Currency its worth.
