Evan Ellis - Challenges facing Chile's Next Government: Part 2
Dear Colleague:
With this, I'm proud to share part 2 of my two-part work "Challenges Facing Chile's Next Government." This part builds on part 1s look at the election itself, the Constituent Assembly, and the consequences of both; Part 2 focuses on the policy agenda and challenges that will face whoever wins on Sunday.
Although prior polls appeared to favor leftist Gabriel Boric over Jose Antonio Kast, the charismatic Libertarian candidate Franco Parisi (eliminated in round 1) made a rather devastating critique of Boric’s program, possibly leading his followers toward Jose Antonio Kast (while the disposition of supporters of Yasna Provoste and Sebastián Sichel somewhat more predictable). Thus as of this note, virtually any outcome in Chile is possible.
