Evan Ellis: "FORUMS AND INFLUENCE: CHINESE COMPETITIVE STRATEGY AND MULTILATERAL ORGANIZATIONS IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN"
Dear Colleague:
The recently concluded Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles has focused attention on the role of multilateral institutions in shaping the Latin American and Caribbean strategic environment, including opportunities for the US, and other actors such as the PRC, to work with those institutions.
In that context, I am proud to share my newest article on PRC engagement with multilateral institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean, in support of PRC pursuit of economic and other strategic objectives in the region more broadly. I wrote this short piece because of the importance of the topic, and what I perceive as a relative lack of analysis directed on what the PRC is doing with the region’s multilateral institutions, other multilateral institutions that touch on the region, and to what end.
The article was just published by the Modern Warfare Institute (MWI) of the U.S. Military Academy (West Point). It is available here for download:
It is also available through MWI at their webpage:
