Evan Ellis - Implications of the Hamas Terror Attacks and the Israeli Response on Latin America and the Global Strategic Environment
Dear Colleague,
With this email, I would like to share with you my new article “Implications of the Hamas Terror Attacks and the Israeli Response on Latin America and the Global Strategic Environment.” It was published in English by IndraStra, and translated and published in Spanish by InfoBAE.
The article expresses heartfelt grief for Israeli losses in the unconscionable Hamas terrorist attacks, and the strongest possible support for its all-out response to eliminate the Hamas threat. At the same time, it looks at the strategic risks of a likely escalation of the conflict, as well as polarization of the Middle East from the events now unfolding, to the benefit of Hezbollah, Iran, and indirectly, to the benefit of Russia and the People’s Republic of China, and to the disadvantage of Ukraine, the U.S., and possibly Taiwan.
The work also looks at implications for Latin America, particularly elevated risk of terror threats against Israeli and Jewish targets, and the prospect for expanded engagement by Hezbollah and Iran in Latin America as the global dynamics unfold.
