Evan Ellis - The Impact of the Turn to the Left on the Advance of the People’s Republic of China in Latin America
Dear Colleague,
With this email, I would like to share with you my new academic work “The Impact of the Turn to the Left on the Advance of the People’s Republic of China in Latin America,” just published by the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs. It is a comparative analysis, supplemented by quantitative data, of patterns in China’s advance in different types of regimes in Latin America, one of the first systematic analyses of this type in the literature. It is focused on the impact of authoritarian populist and other government types on the nature of engagement with the PRC.
It is available, in English, here, for download:
It is also available at the website of the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs, which published it:

Podcast and Radio Shows:
As always, I would also like to share with you the links to my latest audiovisual programs and podcasts.
These include a special one hour presentation (en Español), to the distinguished Dominican Republic thinktank FUNGLODE, to a group of senior current and former security officials, with former Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernandez present:

My audiovisual presentations also include my latest programs on the John Batchelor Show, in his special ongoing series on Latin America, The New World Report.
