Evan Ellis - China's Growing Strategic Position in Nicaragua
Dear Colleague,
With this new email, I am proud to share with you my new work, China’s Growing Strategic Position in Nicaragua. It looks at the growth and evolution of PRC engagement with the Daniel Ortega regime in Nicaragua since its diplomatic recognition of the PRC in December 2021. It focuses particular attention on the recent announcement of multiple new infrastructure projects by PRC-based companies, and other initiatives by the PRC in the country, as well as its strategic significance for the U.S. and the region.
For those for whom it is appropriate, I send you my best wishes for a wonderful Christmas with family and loved ones. I know that there are worrisome, and tragic events unfolding for many of us, in our diverse parts of the world. Let that never take from us the power to love, to hope, and the desire to do good. It is a privilege for me to have your interest in my work and be able to continue in contact….
